Patrick Norguet

Patrick Norguet approaches objects and design from a graphic perspective. Since he was a child, he has always preferred sketchbooks to textbooks, filling them with sketches and drawings. The unusual profile of this constructive rebel starts with a practical approach to industrial design studies in Paris (ESDI). His career took a sudden turn in 2000, when Giulio Cappellini noticed his now famous Rainbow Chair. He joined the group of designers who started and created his Parisian studio. Since then, he has worked for the largest producers (Tacchini, Kristalia, Cassina, Alia, Tolix…) and for the most renowned brands. For Patrick Norguet, design is above all a question of happy encounters. The thing that fascinates him most is the exchange with the producers, the discovery of their knowledge; the impulse of a creative intent refined by the technical limits, by the economic limits and by the expectations of the users that he hopes to convince, in a discreet yet lasting way. Letting himself be inspired by everything that surrounds him, Patrick Norguet does not follow trends but tries to give shape to products whose relevance and modernity are able to stand the test of time: "A well-designed object, created through generous collaboration, is a timeless object ". From consumer products to luxury items, Patrick Norguet leaves a mark of authenticity and elegance on each of them. Today, he is a figure of primary importance on the international design scene.
